How to Set Up a Facebook Ads Account

 

The first step in starting a Facebook Ads campaign is to get the Facebook Ads account - it is linked to your credit card account, so you can purchase your ads from any advertiser. To get a good account, check the ad preferences, and see if there is a monthly charge. If you don't wish to pay, there are also no payment options other than "Buy Now" which will take a week for the ad to appear in your timeline.

Once you have opened your Facebook Ads accounts, you will need to login to it and see the Ads Manager and click the "Settings" link. Here you should choose your location and select the relevant advertising categories - if you haven't already done so. From here, you will be able to choose the text and images of your advertisement as well as how many people will see the ad.

The next step is to select the keywords you want to target and click on the "Create Ads" button. The next step is to upload your own picture or a picture of your product or service and click the "Upload" button. Next, you will be prompted for a description for the ad, and if your product or service fits with the description, click the "Publish" button.

When your ad appears, you will be asked if you would like to add more people to your Facebook Ads campaign, and click the "View" button next to "Add Friends". Click the "Add Friends" button again and wait for the Facebook Ads account to send you an email. If you do not receive the email, make sure you have signed up for the Facebook Ads service and have an active account before adding friends.

After adding new friends, you will be sent more email notifications - these emails will contain updates on your ad campaigns, such as the number of people who saw your ad, how much they were charged, and how much they spent. It is also a good idea to read through the email carefully and ensure that all the information is correct before you finalize your ad.

Once you have your account set up, you should set a goal for each individual ad you are running - this can be anything between the minimum budget you've set yourself, to the maximum limit your Advertiser has set. - the higher your target, the higher your chances of a sale - and better the click through rate! You can also set the price of your ad by clicking on the 'Add' button on the top right hand side of the page, although I'd advise not using the 'Daily' option as you'll need to set your limit before you set the price - this is a preset daily amount.
